A trappy little contest with a number of these having a penchant for cut in the ground, one of them being Medici Pearl, who might be good enough to outpoint Lady Rangali. Tim Easterby's runner is up 5lb for a good to soft Catterick win over this trip earlier in the month and does like to get her toe in. The nagging doubt over her is her inconsistency, but the form has worked out well with the fourth coming out to win since and she is only 2lb worse off with Orpen Fire for that success and she will hopefully be good enough to maintain those placings. Lady Rangali loves to get her toe in and was not far away over a mile in a decent Doncaster handicap last time. She may not yet have stopped improving and is a serious threat here. Goodbye handles soft ground and the drop back in trip should be no problem, but his current mark is a shade too high for this judge. Celtic Lynn represents a yard going well and has been given a mark of 75 for a Doncaster maiden win but is open to a fair bit more improvement now stepped up in trip, while the ground needs to dry out for Gap Princess. Another interesting contest and Medici Pearl is given the nod.
