Our Wee Girl really ought to be good enough to land this race and is selected accordingly although she is unlikely to be much of a price. Chief opposition may come from Straitjacket and Sea Of Leaves and it's conceivable that there'll be some mileage in siding against the selection. Sylvester Kirk's filly was well backed ahead of her Sandown debut and justified the confidence with an eyecatching run with defeat only due to her inexperience. She still looked green when turned over at Leicester next time before failing to handle the track in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom on Derby Day. She has leading claims but there are some useful looking sorts in opposition and she will have to step up to the mark to shed her maiden tag. A few of the newcomers make some appeal on paper and support for either Raedah or Brer Rabbit would be of keen interest with the former's trainer having a particularly good strike rate at this track. Straitjacket was well backed on debut but was no match for another from her yard and she failed to build on that form when finishing behind a stablemate of On The Feather's at Lingfield where she didn't appear to have any obvious excuses. Sea Of Leaves is fitted with a tongue tie today despite showing plenty of promise on her debut at Nottingham where her run only flattened out close home. There are slightly mixed messages from the form but with the winner and the fifth finishing in sixth and seventh in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot it would make sense to view it in a positive light. The selection's draw is also far from ideal but given that she has raced in rear on all three starts that is less of a concern than it may have been and we'll take Our Wee Girl to make it fourth time lucky.
