An open contest to finish with here, and we take Red Man to defy top weight, with Jolika, Lochiedubs, Silver Sedge and North Landing others up for consideration. Red Man handles most ground, and ran well before fading behind Jake Black at Wetherby last time. Prior to that, a good Kelso effort with cut offers promise for this contest, and with the 7lb claim helping, he may be just about good enough. Jolika has some very solid form to call upon here, and had a good pipe opener at Hexham last time, which should have put him straight for this. Trip and ground suit, and he can put up a very big run. Lochiedubs is game and genuine, loves cut, and ran well in defeat last time, meaning a 3lb rise, which could find him out again here. Silver Sedge put up arguably a career-best hurdles run in defeat at Newcastle last time, and off that mark again on ground he is proven on, he can show up well, while North Landing can come on for his first run in over a year, when in the frame at Sedgefield last time, though he does prefer a better surface and may have to wait to get his nose in front again. So our selection to go out on a winner is Red Man.
