Snowy can defy topweight to beat Jolika, with Maunsell's Road also considered for a place. Snowy can boast the best recent form, having opened his account at Kelso three weeks ago. That was only his fourth ever race, and although this is a slight drop back in trip, the stiff Carlisle finish will suit. He has already run twice here so has experience on the track, and has plenty of scope, looking every inch a future chaser. Jolika will appreciate the step back up in trip, having been outpaced when put down to two miles at Hexham last time. Unless it rains though, the ground might be just a bit too lively. Maunsell's Road has yet to open his account over hurdles but shaped well enough at Musselburgh on his last outing in January. If fit enough, he should be there or thereabouts without quite being good enough. Graham Lee, who partnered Snowy last time, switches to Intersky Native, so expect him to play a role as well. However, Snowy, a future chaser in the making, is taken to give weight away all round.
