In depth

Verdict

Slipperfoot can step up a gear to beat Lady Superior, with Skhilling Spirit the other main player. The first two mentioned met at Ripon 11 days ago, with Slipperfoot coming out well on top in finishing third to Lyndalee, overcoming a slow start in the process. That was a much better effort than that produced by Lady Superior who failed to build on an earlier promising bow at Chester. The latter is probably better than that latest run indicates, but you can only go on the form in the book, and that says that Slipperfoot is the one to beat. Of the rest, Skhilling Spirit has plenty of experience and returns to this class after finishing fifth behind Triskaidekaphobia in a York nursery. Any money for Newmarket raider Balthazaar's Gift should obviously be noted, but Slipperfoot is the pick.
