A race that could not be in further contrast to some of the action elsewhere today can go to Sophrano, who may simply be the best of a bad bunch. Ragazzi and Nicholas Nickelby have claims on the best of their form and they edge out Festive Chimes as the pick of the others to bear in mind. Ragazzi is unexposed on turf and looks sure to be placed to good effect if his shrewd trainer thinks there are prizes to be won with him before the end of the season. He has a live chance at the weights and is worth bearing in mind if supported. Similar comments apply to Nicholas Nickelby, who has made the frame in three of his twelve starts and will be seen to good effect on this stiff uphill finish. However, Sophrano had been knocking on the door before failing to give his running last time. That was a much better race than this though and he is expected to be a different proposition this time around.
