STRONG KNIGHT is the possible improver in a poor contest. The French import has tumbled down the weights since joining Tim Walford but was the subject of strong support for his in-form yard when a fair fourth last time. He may well have taken time to acclimatise and there's no doubting he now inhabits a potentially lenient mark. Deep Applause isn't overly consistent by any means but did score here on his penultimate outing and will get involved if repeating that level, although he was beaten here in a claimer last time. Sinatramania is starting to be given a chance by the handicapper after being put up 9lb for scoring here in May on ground with some juice. Playful Girl has claims on a July Ripon success but hasn't built on that since.
