In depth

Verdict

This may not be as competitive as the numbers suggest and Len Lungo's Berwick Law, who showed decent form in winning both his starts in bumpers last term, is taken to make a winning start to his career over hurdles gets the vote ahead of Marleybow and Andytown. The last mentioned showed progressive form in point-to-points and has to be of interest on his rules debut for Nicky Richards. Don McCain's Harry Wood showed promise on his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter last month and has to be respected along with Ferdy Murphy's Ajay, although he would need to improve on the form shown first time over timber. Marleybow, a winner of his only start in a bumper, has solid claims on his hurdling debut but Berwick Law looked useful when winning his two previous outings and he gets the vote to make a winning start to his hurdling career.
