Gamesters Lady has won her last four races across codes but looks opposable here; we'll instead side with STANLEY RIGBY at a price, although Peintre d'Argent and Galiotto must also be considered. Our pick remains a maiden after seven starts but the key to his chance today looks to be the fact he steps markedly up in trip, having shaped with promise over shorter last time. He races off the same mark as when beaten a short-head at Kempton earlier this year and deserves a chance to show he can translate that back to turf now in handicap company. Gamesters Lady has been in fine form of late and Jim Best's mare looks likely to be sent off favourite. She's still well handicapped on old form but hasn't yet shown that she can win on ground with firm in the description and for that reason we'll take her on at a potentially short price. Peintre d'Argent ran well enough off this mark last time to merit attention, particularly as the winner got first run that day. Her sole success came on the Polytrack but she'd shown some promise on turf before that and this mark doesn't look likely to prevent her from adding to that win at some stage. Galiotto is a stablemate of our pick and it'll be interesting to see how the pair go in the market, especially as they have very similar profiles. Turner's Touch represents a top trainer but hasn't yet gone well here at Brighton whilst Barbirolli may need further so we'll return to Stanley Rigby.
