A poor contest can go the way of Misaro ahead of Tally, Warlingham and Lord Chamberlain. Misaro responded to a first-time visor when landing the second of his two wins for Paul Blockley at Wolverhampton in December. The gelding needed that drop to selling class to get his head in front after rising too high in the weights, but failed to add to that and had the visor refitted on his first outing for Conor Dore on a return to Dunstal Park six days ago. The change of stable may have helped revitalise the four-year-old, as he was a fair third and is worth a try back over seven furlongs in a race as bad as this. Tally won a class 5 handicap for Mark Polglase at Southwell last year and should benefit from this drop back down in grade, while Warlingham is a Brighton specialist so can never be ruled out here. He was a close second over the course and distance in a non-seller in June and a repeat of that would see him go close. The veteran Lord Chamberlain has been kept busy this summer and has bits and pieces of form, enough to see him figure, but in a race in which bets are best kept to the absolute minimum, we return to Misaro as the answer.
