Stage Flight is taken to get the better of Archon Star, with Ruffie and Never Say Deya two more that may figure in proceedings. Brian Meehan has his team in good form at present, and hopes are high that Stage Flight can step up on her two runs to date. The daughter of In The Wings finished not too far behind Silca's Sister on her Newmarket debut, and then finished fifth behind Deveron when stepped up to seven furlongs at Goodwood at the end of last month. The third home at the Sussex track, Alexandrova, went on to win her maiden at Tralee and is earmarked for the Prix Marcel Boussac, and of course Silca's sister has already advertised the Newmarket form big style, so connections will be flabbergasted if Stage Flight cannot open her account today. Her main rival appears to be Archon Star who is definitely going the right way, but his level of form does not match that of the selection and in addition he may want faster conditions than those underfoot here. Ruffie is still not the finished article on the evidence of three runs so far but looks the best of Richard Hannon's pair, while Never Say Deya was stone last on her Newbury bow, but homework indicates that she is a lot better than that dismal showing suggests. However, even if they all improve, all roads point to Stage Flight.
