RECALCITRANT is taken to defy a six pounds rise in the weights since his latest success with both Strong Storm and Sceilin posing as the main dangers. The selection had been winless for two years before winning a handicap at this venue last time out. He had dropped a lot in the ratings during his drought and was well treated when dropping down in trip last time out. Connections have stuck with a similar trip this time around and if repeating his recent form he ought to go close to winning again. Strong Storm broke his maiden tag at Lingfield back in January and is still only lightly raced. He ran well to finished third of eleven at Redcar last time out and has been dropped one pound since. He looks more than capable of being competitive off his current mark so any market moves should be closely monitored. Sceilin has been in fine spirits of late winning at Bath in June before finishing second of twelve at Lingfield on his latest run. He remains well treated and is sure to be in the shake up come the business end of the race. Recalcitrant however receives weight from all the main dangers and if at his best he will prove difficult to beat.
