Pearl's A Singer can overcome a drop down in distance to score over Mpenzi, Daydream Dancer and Iamback. Pearl's A Singer opened her account at the ninth time of asking when scoring over 14 furlongs at Catterick 12 days ago, and although dropped back in trip now, she should still take the beating. That win at the Yorkshire track was fully expected as she started odds-on to go one better than a previous second at Leicester, and, given a confident ride by Hayley Turner, the result was never in doubt. Still well treated, the daughter of Spectrum is the one to beat. Mpenzi produced a big improvement on previous efforts when third at Warwick in first-time blinkers, but still looked very one-paced, and in contrast to the selection, will surely need another couple of furlongs. Daydream Dancer won twice here last year, goes on the ground and will appreciate the drop back in trip, so should be in at the finish, while Iamback hung under pressure when tackling two miles at Folkestone and is another that can be there or thereabouts. For the winner though it just has to Pearl's A Singer.
