    Verdict

Alpen Wolf, Turibius, Izmail and Brevity are best in on official ratings and, of these, Turibius catches our eye and gets the nod. After a couple of near misses, Turibius came good at Kempton last time and, having proven he handles the course and is still racing from a competitive mark, will not be far away. Delegate comes here on the back of a course and distance win on August 7 but is now nine pounds worse off for the neck that he beat Alpen Wolf in that contest. Brevity has failed to win for two years but is entitled to claims with a seven-pound claimer on board. Izmail has been quite highly-tried since a fair Ayr second in July, a repeat of which gives him solid claims but we'll stick with Turibius.
