Lay Down Sally has won here over five from today's mark and was unlucky when third here last time after being hampered in running. As such, she gets the vote in a tricky event. That said, Piquet is nine pounds better with her for three and a half lengths he finished behind her that day, but the selection might be able to confirm the placings. Of the others, American Cousin is back on a winning mark; Muqtadi has yet to win on turf; Mutabassir has won five times here and is seven pounds lower in the ratings than for the last of them - although that was two years ago; Robespierre is lightly raced and should have better to come; Genteel won a Nottingham seller as a juvenile but hasn't shown too much since; Edward's Brother and Ballygriffin Lad finished just behind Emmervale in an event for jump riders here last time, and they are now one pound better off, the former being equipped with blinkers for the first time; Nineacres can be fancied on the best of his form, but is not as good as he once was; Travellers Joy is a lightly raced maiden but if the literal form of her run behind Cerulean Rose at Bath last time can be believed, then she is not without a chance; Consignia ran well here over today's trip the time-before-last, a repeat of which gives place claims; Indian Warrior is four pounds higher now than for his Catterick win in an apprentice handicap; Present N'Corredt won here from a one-pound lower mark, but that was in 2001, although he ran his best race for some time at Nottingham last time and is now fitted with cheekpieces; while Millennium King has only one good run to his name, and that was three runs ago. As we say, it's tricky but we give the call to Lay Down Sally.
