Verlegen may prove to be the answer to this nursery with Pocket's Pick and Sonhador amongst others to consider. Richard Hannon has a typically strong team of juveniles at his disposal and, although this filly has yet to win in four starts, she looks capable of landing a race of this nature. She was around 6 lengths behind Pocket's Pick at Sandown on her third start but meets that rival on 6lbs better terms and has gone on to run a far better race in a useful little maiden back at the Esher track. Gary Moore landed this race last year and Pocket's Pick shouldn't be viewed harshly for finishing last at Goodwood last time as that was a strong race. This is more realistic and he should be involved. Sonhador ran well on his nursery bow at Bath and is progressing along the right lines, Kate The Great has plenty of early speed and Satwa Boy may benefit from dropping back in trip. Cases can be made for one or two others as well but we'll take Verlegen to make a successful first foray into the handicap ranks.
