A tricky maiden which really revolves around the Godolphin runner Desert Chill, but he is proving a bit disappointing and we will chance Sir Michael Stoute's Certain Promise. The selection has had just two runs to date and was not unfancied when not running as well as anticipated at Newbury over 10f in April. Her trainer has not rushed her back to the racecourse and we can hopefully see a different animal here. The drop back to a mile should not be a major issue and faster ground is a definite plus, so she can leave that form behind and looks the potential improver here. Desert Chill has the form on the board here but is not exactly a frightening opponent after five successive runs into the frame, and a mark of just 81. She has never raced on ground this quick yet either, so those looking for reasons to oppose her have another one, and we are prepared to field against the likely 'jolly'. Gulch's Rose is another potential improver having been brought along steadily by Jeremy Noseda. Fast ground will suit and the mile trip won't be a problem. Civitas Filius will be better for this ground and a run at Windsor, so we can expect a fair bit more from him, but for today we'll suggest Certain Promise.
