A chance is taken with Muntada, who is selected ahead of Piety and Samurai Way, while Materialize is also capable of going close at this level. Materialize has run a couple of fair races in defeat lately and has already shown that she has the capability to win a race. It is interesting that she is reverts to maiden company and is definitely one to monitor in the betting. Samurai Way is half-brother to several useful types and is an interesting one to note. This former Godolphin inmate makes his debut for Luca Cumani and can only benefit from the outing. Again the market will be a good gauge as to how wound up he is for his return to the track. Piety -from the in-form Mark Johnston yard - has to merit a second look on these terms and will be dangerous to underestimate. She is going the right way and, having already proved herself capable on a stiff track, she is expected to be involved in the thick of the action. However, Muntada makes more appeal on the evidence available and is fancied to rise to this latest test of her abilities. The form of her penultimate start looks particularly strong in the context of this race and she can make the long journey up from Lambourn worthwhile on this occasion.
