Faster ground can see FOSSGATE bounce back with Shekan Star and Regal Lyric viewed amongst the dangers. Blinkers saw James Bethell's charge record his first victory for a year when he came home just under four lengths in front of Regal Lyric. He floundered in the mud at Hamilton when attempting to follow up but is well enough handicapped to bounce back with conditions on the fast side. Shekan Star wasn't beaten far over course and distance last time and she's on a competitive mark and should go well again whilst Regal Lyric showed signs of returning to form last time and has claims at the weights. Wee Charlie Castle found the ground too soft last time and was in good form prior to that whilst Umverti has claims if a poor run can be forgiven. Cases can also be made for Grand Art and Mister Fizzbomb whilst Coole Dodger could be of interest too if his stamina lasts out but we fancy Fossgate to win this race for the second time in four years.
