Mataram's thoroughly consistent form has earned him top weight here and he can continue in good heart and take this from a useful pitch, while Bolton Hall is very much respected and Mr Jingles can go well once more. Mataram last won off a mark of 76 and despite running well at 80 on his last start on the polytrack he races off 5lb lower here. He would still look to hold solid claims off 80, so he looks very attractive from today's mark and over his optimum trip. Bolton Hall won a similar handicap over c&d last time and is 3lb higher here. He doesn't win often though so caution is advised, though he can run his race. Mr Jingles has gone up 16lb for back to back wins at Musselburgh and Carlisle, and returning to the Scottish track he again ran well from a mark of 59 when third to Frank Crow last time. He is very much respected, while Barkass is a lightly raced sort who may be open to further improvement, but preference here is for Mataram.
