Caravel is an obvious contender in his current mood but may be anchored by a double penalty and so we will side with Surprise Pension, Shotley Mac could do best of the others. John Quinn's three-year-old was successful on his reappearance when beating Shandelight on good ground at Hamilton. He wasn't disgraced next time out on softish ground behind John Dillon and off this current mark he should go very close. Caravel has landed two races in quick succession and should be thereabouts again, but the steadier of ten stone three is very off-putting. Shotley Mac makes a quick return to the track having made the odds on Jibajaba pull out all the stops at Redcar. If repeating that effort today he should be in the shake up. Paradise Walk is another in with place claims, but our idea of the winner is Surprise Pension.
