Everything appears to be right for GALA SUNDAY to follow up his recent win here, while The Last Alzao is likely to emerge as his greatest rival. Serena Brotherton gets on well with the selection, whom she has partnered to victories in six lady riders' contests just like this, two of which have been here on good to firm and good to soft. This trip is ideal and the nine-year-old is probably still capable of following up from a 4lbs higher mark. The Last Alzao stays further than this, as evidenced by her Wolverhampton win over 1m 4f, and so this stiff uphill climb for the last half mile will bring her stamina into play. A 6lb rise will make this tougher, but her chance is respected as one who could again improve after just six career starts. Casablanca Minx is another who gets at least as far as this, and so may be able to get involved, though the mare has gone up in the weights for finishing second last time and so the chances are that she will have to settle for the frame at best. The same applies to Rudry World, who would enter short list calculations is the ground turned soft. Shekan Star likes it here and is now back on a very handy mark. It is not hard to envisage her going close but we will stick with Gala Sunday.
