A good, competitive contest for the stayers where YONDER is taken to complete a hat-trick, while Monte Pattino should be able to run her close and Pseudonym can make the shake-up. The last-named comes here after a fast ground win over 1m 5f at Warwick last time. Milton Harris's gelding has gone up 2lbs for his all out win there, and he should go very well, but he has never yet strung two wins together and we are prepared to oppose. Monte Pattino looks a major player here. The five-year-old has won two of his last four races, including last time on fast ground at Musselburgh. He proved that day that he has the stamina for two miles and even with a 5lb rise here he will not be stopping. However, the one open to perhaps most improvement looks to be Yonder. Hughie Morrison's mare chases a hat-trick after victories at both Salisbury, over 1m 4f, and Lingfield, over 1m 6f. The trainer clearly believes that the mare is a stayer, having already tried her at trips up to 2m 6f at Pontefract, albeit unconvincing over that far. However, today's distance looks within her compass based on her latest running, and we will take first-time blinkers as a positive and side with her. The potential fly-in-the-ointment could be Longboat Key. Mark Johnston's gelding receives the age allowance and went close in first-time headgear at Warwick earlier in the month. He may be open to improvement for this longer trip and market support would probably be significant, though Yonder is preferred.
