An open look to this handicap where ATABAAS ALLURE is the suggestion to outpoint Hel's Angel and Sarwin. The Mark Johnston-trained selection enjoyed back-to-back handicap wins on a couple of Polytrack surfaces last autumn and went very well from a mark of 81 on her seasonal return at Pontefract in April. She was then tried over 1m 6f at Sandown and also in a German Listed event, but this is more like her level and the drop back in trip looks likely to be a positive. She acts on a sound surface and has the allowances on her side too, so her trainer looks to have found her a good opportunity. Hel's Angel has already scored twice over this sort of trip this season, and has gone up 4lbs as a result of the most recent of those which came against her own sex at Pontefract. She too receives the allowances here and is not dismissed lightly. Sarwin has scored in three of his last five and despite being thrashed off this mark at Carlisle last time he can probably be forgiven that run with an apprentice up. He goes well here and is respected. Exit Smiling is slowly dropping in the weights and can certainly get competitive from today's mark of 79. Collateral Damage would have a great chance if able to recapture his best, but it has been a long time between drinks for connections and Atabaas Allure can score.
