Verdict

Another tough race to call here for punters with the draw again sure to play a major part in proceedings and the principals look to be Trouble Mountain, Calatagan, Tony Tie and Melodian and the vote goes to last year's winner Trouble Mountain. The selection was a good third on his debut this season behind Digger on the AW and the switch to turf could bring about some improvement off what looks a fair mark. Tony Tie rates the main danger on his latest unlucky-in-running sixth behind Ofaraby but again he may find traffic problems. Melodian is sure to make a bold bid to make all but has been done no favours by the draw. Calatagan ran well after a long absence to be third behind Court Of Appeal and if he does not bounce he is another that could go well. Of the remainder Graft looks the stables second string on form but he is worth a cautionary look in the market but for the winner we return to his stable companion Trouble Mountain.
