A poor contest gets proceedings underway and on closer inspection not many can be given a serious chance of winning and the principals look to be Lucky Largo, Eva Peron and Vermilion Creek and the tentative vote goes to Lucky Largo. The selection is well-weighted on his best form when second behind Carranduff and is taking a drop in grade. He has a good draw and with conditions to suit he will be hard to beat. Eva Peron rates the main danger on her best form but she is very small and she has only ever won on the AW and for that reason she is opposed on this occasion. Vermilion Creek is also worthy of respect as he was a fair sixth behind Wilson Bluebottle on the AW last time, is from a yard in form and is dropping back down in grade so he is a danger to all. Of the remainder Nod's Nephew is another that is well-in on his best form and is worth noting in the market but in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum, for the winner we return to Lucky Largo.
