In depth

Verdict

In another very tricky affair, Sir Nod is just given the verdict ahead of Smiddy Hill and Tender Process. Most of these appear to run every other day and tend to take it in turns to win, this time it could be Sir Nod's day. He showed his well being with a valiant effort on the turf at southwell last time when just touched off by Paris Bell. On similar ground today he can go one better. Smiddy Hill returned to winning form at Musselburgh last month, just getting the better of Strawberry Patch. He may just be in the handicapper's grip now but should still play a part in the finish. Tender Process was beaten into fourth in a better race than this at Leicester last time and still looks on a decent enough mark. Meanwhile Wanchai Lad showed signs of a form revilval last time and cannot easily be ruled out. However Sir Nod looks to be at the top of his game and he gets our vote.
