        Verdict

        The extra half furlong will be a plus for VERLUGA, who can improve on his Carlisle win to follow up, while Green For Luck and Sunrise Lyric are among the dangers. Our pick was winning from a mark of just 58 at the north-west venue, when he did all of his best work late on. Fast ground suits and there looks likely to be 4lbs worth of improvement in him, so we will stick with him. Green For Luck is up 2lbs for going close at Yarmouth last time and has to be a threat and Sunrise Lyric is entitled to go well at these weights, although she did not look the easiest of rides at Leicester last time. Gazamali and Rescent both come here in decent form and have favourable draws, so they are likely to be on the premises, while Fleetwoodsands won a Wolverhampton handicap and is 5lbs higher this time, but nonetheless looks competitive. Verluga can go in again.
