In depth

Verdict

Advancement gets a narrow vote in a wide open affair, Sam's Secret and Flying Bantam look to be the main rivals. The selection has to shoulder top-weight but has earned it with some solid efforts. A recent spin around Southwell will have blown away the cobwebs and he still looks on a decent mark. Sam's Secret has hit form in sellers, winning at Musselburgh and Redcar. He has struggled in handicaps off this sort of mark befiore, but he may have improved and looks a big danger to all. Stable companion of the selection Flying Bantam has been knocking on the door recently and will be hard to keep out of the frame. Motafarred is the dark horse in the race and any money for Micky Hammond's charge would be interesting. All in all a tricky affair but Advancement looks the pick on last season's form and he gets the verdict.
