behind, keen, headway over 4f out, chased winner 3f out, stayed on inside final furlong, no impression

Bold Eagle only has Elraawy to worry about, and should take this in his stride, with the other two runners only making up the numbers. Bold Eagle has been hard to place so far, and indeed was a beaten favourite at Newmarket last time when patently failing to see out the 12 furlong trip. Prior to that, Sir Michael Stoute's charge had so nearly opened his account when just touched off over this trip at Sandown, but the fact that his conqueror that day was a 100-1 shot casts some doubt on his true ability. Obviously destined not to be one of the leading lights at Freemason Lodge, he has nevertheless been found the best of opportunities to come good, and should make no mistake. Elraawy was behind the selection at Newmarket and in fact looks a similar sort. He is the one to chase home the selection, with Bold Eagle expected to justify his short price.
