Verdict
Real Cool Cat gets the vote over Oblique, with Burnley Al, Good Investment and Mr Majestic expected to play a part. Real Cool Cat has been most consistent this summer, gaining a win over the course and distance in June, and adding to that with a further victory at Leicester. He has continued to give a good account since rising up the weights, and made a bold bid to make all at Newmarket last time, fading to finish third. In reality, the handicapper probably has his measure, but he has a good draw here and if he can get into the lead early, may last home. Oblique has topweight to overcome after landing a Newcastle maiden, while Burnley Al steps up in trip after staying on into third at Carlisle. He should be in the shake-up along with Good Investment, a winner at Ripon in June and who has been kept busy over hurdles since. A fairly open event can go the way of Real Cool Cat.
