Sky Lodge is given the vote in this claimer with Spitzensparkes, Lucys Lady and Par Excellence the others that make up the shortlist. The selection was well-backed on his debut when a good third behind Baytown Lulu on soft ground over this course and distance. He is well-drawn today and if he improves for that debut effort then he should take plenty of beating. Spitzensparkes is interesting as she was a beaten favourite on this track last time when third behind Magnolia Blossom. She hung badly in the closing stages that day and although she finished second she hampered the third past the post the post and the stewards reversed the placings. She is capable of a big run again here but the way she hung under pressure that day would be a concern. Lucys Lady won well at Haydock last time when beating Bermuda Beauty and if she improves for that effort she will not be far away at the finish here. Par Excellence is another that won well last time but she looks more exposed than a few of these and we are quite happy to return to Sky Lodge as our idea of the winner.
