Both Melundy and Sharp Eclipse look set to go well but neither may be able to cope with the challenge of PRAESEPE, who gets the vote. The William Haggas-trained selection has been a beaten favourite on both starts so far, being held in second on debut at Wolverhampton before returning from a break to weaken in to third over 6f at Ffos Las. Hopefully that run will have given her further education and this ground suits, so with the drop in trip a positive we will side with her to overcome a low draw. Melundy went close here over course and distance last time and loves these conditions. A 2lb drop will help and she looks a threat. Sharp Eclipse is finding a first win to be elusive and is now dropped to this stiff 5f, but nonetheless has stronger claims than most. Mottley Crewe has shown a glimmer of ability and is one to note in the market but we are happy to side with Praesepe. Jonathan Doidge.
