In depth

Verdict

This looks a trick maiden but the well tried Strategic Mount can win with Gordonsville, Reinstated and Matinee Idol all worth noting. Strategic Mount has had four runs already this season and to be fair he has performed with credit every time. He managed to finish fourth at Chepstow last time out in a better standard of race and if putting his best foot forward he has a real chance of getting his head in front at last. His biggest rival will be Gordansville who ran so well on his only start as a two year old last year and looks the type to better at three. The market will tell us more. Reinstated ran a personal beat at Newbury last time out when third of nine to Sandglass. He was beaten little more than five lengths that day and this looks easier. Matinee Idol is another who is unexposed after his fifth at Lingfield and more is still to come but for the winner we return to Strategic Mount.
