Carlisle stages its richest raceway and in the opener it is Open Prince that is taken to come out on top over Domino Dancer, with newcomers Inshore, Packers Hill and White Deer all worth a mention at least. Open Prince was considered unlucky not to collect on his AR debut, having to be checked when challenging inside the final furlong, Kevin Ryan's juvenile having to settle for second behind a 50-1 shot. Even more woe awaited him next time at Nottingham unfortunately as he got his nose caught in the front of the stalls. He was then very slowly away after being upset by the incident and was heavily eased to trail home in the rear. He is a lot better than his form indicates, as proven by entries in two big sales races later this year, and surely compensation awaits here in a race that should take little winning. Domino Dancer has put in three decent efforts so far, and will be prominent for a long way. However, his current style of running will make him susceptible to the selection who can come from just off the pace to reel him in. Inshore, Packers Hill and White Deer all hail from stables that can get one ready, but it is time for Prince Open to come good and he can do so here.
