COILED SPRING is taken to get the better of Rosika and Fondant Fancy in this maiden. The selection has not been seen out since running in a competitive maiden at Newmarket back in October. He did not get the race run to suit that day but he still put in a decent effort and natural progression would make him hard to beat. Rosika looks the obvious alternative as Sir Michael Stoute's filly ran well on her debut at Wolverhampton when she was third behind Double Act. She is upped in trip today which should suit and she should be capable of making her mark. Fondant Fancy left her debut running behind when she finished third behind Onemix over this course and distance earlier in the month. She looks to be going the right way and if she takes another step forward then she will be a danger to all. Arlene Phillips will need to improve on what she has shown so far on the racecourse if she is to have a say in things, while Dreamwalk is consistent and is another to consider. There are plenty in with chances and the narrow vote goes to Coiled Spring.
