Gallego has pretty solid claims here and is preferred to Dancing Jest, Sceilin and Western Roots. The selection won over course and distance from this mark last October when partnered by Hayley Turner and should be cherry ripe having had two starts this term. He's prone to starting slowly and is usually held up so his high draw is of no concern and Kirsty Milczarek is taken to time his run to perfection to continue the yard's good run of form. Talking of yards in form, there are few who have enjoyed better months than Rae Guest who has won with six of his fourteen runners. Anything he sends out at the moment has to be considered and this filly may well improve for this step up in trip. Sceilin has been in good form and finished around three lengths in front of the selection at Warwick last time. She races from the same mark this evening and may well make the frame again. Western Roots also comes into this at the top of his game but the balance of his form indicates that fast ground is a negative and he is, therefore, passed over in favour of Gallego.
