Verdict

With four debutantes and little recent form for most of the others, a market check is essential, but tentatively we'll go with experience and select FRANK STREET, who's expected to find main the challenges coming from Cawdor and Ben's Dream. Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding has run respectably in three races to date last year, and showed he's got a modicum of form to take a race such as this. A low draw should help. Cawdor's best form in a trio if races have come with a little cut in the ground so this may be a little too firm. Ben's Dream is entitled to come on for a pipe opener earlier in the month. That was his first outing since a couple of seconds last year. New Leyf is an interesting debutant, having already been sold twice for fees in excess of 100 thousand and 50 thousand Euro. He's Jeremy Gask's only runner here too. Minimum stakes for us this contest, but our marginal preference is for Frank Street.
