MAKE AMENDS may be able to live up to her name in the finale; Turfwolke and Idesia are others to bear in mind in an open race. Ron Hodges fires two shots at the target in the hope of emulating last year's success and we prefer the claims of his unexposed filly despite her high draw and relatively modest showing last time. That run came just twelve days after she had achieved her maiden success in heavy ground at Chepstow and may just possibly have come too soon for this inexperienced daughter of Indian Ridge. She's been given plenty of time to recover from her exertions and could reward each-way support. Attempting to read between the lines of Turfwolke's three qualifying runs isn't easy but she showed promise on her second start and showed up well for a long way over a trip that was too far for her at Chester. Viewing that form favourably makes her of interest from a lowly mark and we'll be keen to see what the market makes of her chances. The fitting of a tongue strap, the booking of Ryan Moore, the yard's form and the fact that she has been gambled on before suggest that Idesia is likely to attract support once again. Those factors may combine to bring success to the Swinburn filly but we'd rather oppose her and will do so with Make Amends.
