Verdict

BOB'S YOUR UNCLE is the default selection in a race where few boast solid credentials. As a result, Bold Bobby Be makes the short-list along with Saloon. It's stretching a point to describe the selection as well handicapped but he has won from higher marks in the past, has finished runner-up on both starts here, is versatile with regard to underfoot conditions and has won for today's jockey. He's never won over a trip this far but may have been found the right race in which to set that record straight. Bold Bobby Be was well backed on each one of his first three starts of the season before his supporters finally gave up. He's clearly been giving out the right signals at home and it will be interesting to see if backers come back for more in the hope that the first time headgear will enable him to reproduce his homework on the track. Saloon enters calculations on the back of a fair third in a modest amateur riders' affair at Warwick. This gelding who was once purchased for 400,000 dollars is on a nice mark on the best of his old form and has only had a handful of runs for a shrewd yard. He's one to monitor in a market that could be interesting but Bob's Your Uncle is the solid choice.
