Verdict

The length third by Mick Channon's Cannon Fire behind Aurelia here over 10 furlongs last month represents the best form on offer here and this is likely to go to one of the newcomers with preference for Tree Chopper over Kabis Booie. The last mentioned is a Night Shift half-brother to a useful sprinter and Henry Cecil's colt may find the trip stretching his stamina so the vote goes to Tree Chopper. The son of Woodman is bred to be useful being a half-sister to the useful Mubtaker and, with the Marcus Tregoning yard continuing to in such good form, she looks the one to be on. Brian Meehan's Our Lodge is probably better than he has showed so far but he, along with the rest of the runners, makes limited appeal in a race where we are happy to side with the newcomer Tree Chopper.
