    In depth

    Verdict

If second time blinkers have the same effect as they did first up, then Acuzio looks the one to be on here, with Adalar, Mighty Pip and Joey Perhaps others to consider. The selection sported the headgear at Haydock last time, going off like a scalded cat, but not able to hold on over a furlong further. If they have anything like that effect here then he may be capable of hanging on, in what doesn't look as good a race. This trip looks about his stamina limit anyway, and we will give him another chance this time. Adalar has been very much in and out of form, though in theory this should probably be his optimum trip. he would need to improve, as would course and distance winner Didoe, to get his nose in front here. Mighty Pip is very moderate and has a most recent winning mark of 36, while Joey Perhaps ran well in a worse contest than this on his penultimate start, but struggles at this level. So, in a very poor contest, we take Acuzio to be good enough.
