Not the most competitive of handicaps, with Hope An Glory, Aylmer Road and Brandexe for the short list, and we take Hope An Glory to follow-up his recent course win. That was the selection's first run on turf, and although he ran around a bit, he was value for a shade more than the official margin. This step up in trip looks ideal, and he should be good enough to cope with his rise in the weights. Aylmer Road gets 5lb and has been steadily improving, with a decent effort in this sort of company at Newmarket last time showing that he is not far off the mark. However, the step up in trip is not sure to suit him, and he may again have to settle for the minors. Stiffest opposition may come from Brandexe, who receives 10lb from the selection, and who steps up markedly in trip. That looks certain to bring about some improvement from him, and the market may give us a clue to any confidence from connections. But Hope An Glory did the job well in the end last time and can follow up here.
