Ela Figura looks the one to beat, with She's My Valentine and Somerset West likely to make their presence felt as well. Ela Figura had plenty of opportunities as a juvenile but failed to take any of them. However, she has started to show some worthwhile form at last, notably when running a great race behind Malapropism from out of the handicap at Goodwood the time before last. She was also on the wrong side of the weights when third at Sandown in soft ground last time, and must surely gain due reward soon. Somerset West is fully exposed as well, while She's My Valentine has shown a glimmer of ability but maybe not enough to trouble the selection. With Frankie McDonald able to claim five pounds into the bargain, Ela Figura has the look of a winner.
