In depth

Verdict

Nick Vaughan's GEE MAJOR reversed form with Lady Of Garmoran when narrowly successful over course and distance and he may be good enough to follow up that success in what looks a weaker race, despite carrying a 6lb penalty, and he gets the vote ahead of Cuckoo Rock and Securitisation. Any market support for the last mentioned would be of interest being trained by Barney Curley but he is hard to back with any confidence having been well held at Market Rasen last month and in recent flat starts. Pie Poudre remains a maiden after 10 starts and has only been placed once, while Willie Muir's Tudor Princess has been given a chance by the handicapper but needs to improve. John Portman's Cuckoo Rock ran better at Windsor last time and has claims but Gee Major is the one form horse in the race and can follow up his recent course and distance success.
