chased leaders on outside, challenged 2f out, led over 1f out, pushed out final furlong and always just doing enough towards finish
chased leader, ridden and bumped on inside well over 1f out, stayed on to chase winner approaching final furlong, one pace and held when lost 2nd last strides
held up tracking leaders on rail, pulled out inside final 2f, headway over 1f out, driven and stayed on to 2nd last strides, readily held by winner
slight lead, pushed along halfway, ridden and headed over 1f out, weakened and hung left inside final furlong
Rod Millman's Ocean Blaze has struggled in three starts since winning a Bath claimer in June and is likely to do so again in a race taken to go to ASK JENNY, who gets the vote ahead of Our Piccadilly. The last mentioned has shown improved form in recent starts, finishing a close up fourth behind Brynfa Boy at Epsom last month on her most recent start and she has every chance racing off the same mark today. John Portman's Bathwick Xaara has been running creditably well but could probably do with some help from the handicapper, while David Arbuthnot's Night Affair is capable but is probably better over six furlongs than the minimum that she races over today. The same cannot be said of Ask Jenny though as she was a well held third of four over six furlongs at Yarmouth last time but had won over five at Bath for Patrick Morris previously and she can resume winning ways.
