Verdict

Magical Liaison has plenty of experience and deserves to find a race having been runner-up at Ludlow on his last two outings. However he may have to settle for second best again here behind Imperial Dream, who shaped with plenty of promise on his debut at Huntingdon. Henrietta Knight's five-year-old comes from the same family as Gold Cup winner Imperial Call and he is sure to be all the wiser now with that experience under his belt. Of the newcomers the flat bred Hartshead is one to keep an eye on. He is out of a mare that won over a mile on the level for Sir Michael Stoute and is from a stable that has won two of these bumpers in the last week.
