In depth

Verdict

The card ends with a whimper and this poor bumper is there for the taking, with WHITEABBEY taken to do so, while Hard Act can emerge next best. Donald McCain does well both at this track and in this sphere, and his Irish point winner Whiteabbey won't lack for fitness or preparation today. He stays further than this and handles cut well, and he looks the one to be on. Hard Act has joined Sue Smith after a lengthy lay-off that followed a sole bumper run at Thurles a couple of years ago. Pedigree suggests that he will handle cut and given connections' patience we can probably assume that there is some ability there, so with the yard going well a nice reintroduction probably awaits. Rhythm Seeker has been gradually improving in this company and there is no reason why he can't do again, though he is likely to come up short, and with the other pair appearing to be having a day out, we'll take Whiteabbey to score.
