      Verdict

A decent novices' contest here where ART DECO is preferred to Sahrati and Thumbs Up. The last-named has to concede weight away all around after wins both here and at Aintree in the spring, and although he was well beaten on his seasonal return he likely to strip fitter for it and is not written off. Sahrati has a flat rating of 86, entitling him to plenty of respect on his hurdling introduction. Alan King will have him well prepared and he acts with juice in the ground, so we expect a bold showing. Kilshannig was also rated in the 80s on the level in Ireland and has the stamina for this as a 1m 3f Dundalk winner. Although he is unproven in conditions, being by Galileo he should act in them and can go well. Uncle Bertie is a former Neil Vaughan inmate who has switched to Tim Vaughan after just one run for Tom Dascombe. He is not guaranteed to get home in this ground. All of that leaves us with Art Deco. Charlie Egerton has had few runners lately for us to gauge the form of his stable, but soft ground suits and he stays at least 10 furlongs on the flat, where with a rating of 105 when last seen, he may just have too much class for this lot.
