In depth

Verdict

This looks a good chance for Cumbrian Knight to score, with Day du Roy appearing to be his biggest danger. The selection has performed well in three of his four hurdling starts and certainly appears to face little today of the ilk of Hey Ref and Temple Dog, who have won races in which he has started. Jonjo O'Neill's xxx has been chasing of late and will probably lack the basic speed to trouble the selection. Turning to the others, Carn Rivers and Carriage Ride were well beaten on their hurdling debuts. And Severn Belle has clearly had his problems, having had just five career runs. Now seven, he has shown promise on the odd occasion but, lacking a run in 775 days, is difficult to fancy. Overall, then, Cumbrian Knight looks to hold a very good chance and gets our vote.
